Raw Vegan Date & Tahini Bites

I’m the type of person who likes to have a little bite of something sweet several times a day. This can be troublesome when you find yourself surrounded with sugar-filled junk, which is often the case for me – especially at work, and especially during this spooky time of year. We need not succumb to the evil treats when you have enlightening recipes like this one in your arsenal.

Much like The Grouch, we like simple things around here. These bars are a combination of only three ingredients sprinkled with a bit of high-quality sea salt.

Mush them together using a blender or food processor and that’s pretty much it. They’re best kept in the freezer, which is perfect for those folks who like to visit the fridge for snacks throughout the day.

Raw Vegan Date & Tahini Bars

1 cup soft dates
1/2 tahini
2 tablespoons liquid coconut oil
sea salt to taste


Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Use a food processor or blender to combine the dates, tahini and coconut oil until smooth. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, using a spatula to even it out. Allow to firm in the freezer for at least one hour.

Store in the freezer up to one week for best results.
