“Right now since I’m the center of this energy
I choose to make it positive energy
And as for the negative energy
I’m gonna overpower the negative energy
Because I know it’s out there and it’s like a disease
And see, once my light magnifies, the disease dies
Ya understand once my light magnifies the disease dies
The energy” -Aceyalone (from The Energy)
Every single day, for one reason or another, I feel stressed the eff out. Every single day I also crave chocolate. These two qualities tend to keep me wanting to snack on things ALL. DAY. LONG. Especially at work. This could be a real problem if I didn’t bring my own healthy snacks.
These little energy bites satisfy the sugar and chocolate craving while also providing a boost of clean, non-jolting energy. Maca root is an adaptogen, which means it helps the body cope with stress by normalizing and nourishing the endocrine system (among other things). Completely opposite from a pharmaceutical drug, adaptogenic herbs can be included in the diet as a food and respond to each body’s individual needs differently. I’ve come to see adaptogenic herbs as miracle workers, as they’ve really been the only thing to help me deal with my chronic stress and anxiety. The key though, is to take them consistently.
Keep a batch of these on hand as work snacks or use them to keep you sustained through your next road trip. Also, make a batch and start eating these a few days before you plan to stay up late for your favorite Hip Hop show and notice how you’re not quite as tired.
