First of all, what the heck is tapping? Tapping is a way to work with psychological issues by very gently tapping on our meridian points. It’s based on the same principles as acupressure and acupuncture – healing systems which have been in place over 5,000 years. The most significant thing about tapping is that it immediately halts our stress responses and actually retrains what’s called the limbic response. If you don’t know by now, stress is considered by many to be the root cause of much illness and disease, but we don’t need science or doctors to tell us how terrible we feel when we’re stressed out.
I’ve been on the tapping tip for a few years now and I’m so happy to say it really works. The only problem with tapping though, like all other things that are good for us, is remembering to do it. Which is why I chose to receive this free copy from Hay House for review. I figure the more I read and am reminded of it, the more I’ll actually use it.
I’ve read a lot of books on EFT, or the emotional freedom technique, and I can honestly say this one is one of my favorites. Not only does Mr. Ortner provide many pages of detail on why tapping works, but he provides separate chapters to help guide us through specific problems.
The absolute best thing about tapping is that you can address and get rid of lifelong problems and phobias almost instantly. It’s true. Tapping really is a solution for anything. I’ve used it a lot for releasing sugar cravings. For some reason I get really strong cravings for chocolate whenever I first arrive at work. Tapping, when I remember to do it, will release the craving in just one round. If you don’t know what a round is, you need this book.
I’ve also used tapping to help me with bouts of panic and anxiety. Again, when I remember to do it, tapping helps me calm myself when I feel like I’m losing control. But you can also use tapping for manifesting, and that’s what I’m working on right now. Through tapping you can manifest whatever it is you long for – whether it be losing weight, more money, or creating a lasting relationship. If you don’t have these things it’s because there are deep seated blocks within your subconscious mind and body that are keeping you stuck in your current rut. Tapping will help you address these things yourself, for free.
It took me a long time to write this review because I kept waiting for the moment when I was “finished” with it, but I realized that I’ll never be finished. And that’s a great thing! This book has officially become part of my repertoire of resources that I go to whenever I need help. We all need reminding and guidance at different points in our lives.

Also, if you’re interested, I have an excellent documentary produced by Nick Ortner that shows people authentically using tapping to heal themselves from their personal traumas. We can have a movie night and I’ll make you some treats.
